New Model Army have never been defined by musical genre boundaries. Founded in 1980 in Bradford, the band was initially assigned to punk and Northern Soul, but over time also revealed inspiration from folk, metal, R&B, hip-hop and classical music — a unique mix of styles in today's music world. “Carnival” was first published in September 2005. “We always had the feeling that “Carnival” was the album where recording sessions, mixing and mastering never did justice to the songs. “says bandleader, Justin Sullivan. “When EarMusic offered us to license the album and plan a new edition, we discovered four accompanying tracks (B-pages and unreleased recordings) and saw our chance to reinvent “carnival” from scratch. “The band handed over the original recordings to Lee Smith, the co-producer and mixer of their latest works, including their latest album “From Here”. Completely remixed and mastered, the result is a sound that is significantly sharper, more defined, more powerful and coherent than at the 2005 release. The album is now available as a high-quality 2CD hardcover Mediabook Edition — including “B-pages and unreleased recordings”.
