Trouble always has a way of finding me. When a large man grabs me and throws me into the back of a white, windowless van while I'm being chased by an angry drug dealer, I can't say I'm surprised. While it's the first time this has occurred, I've been in weirder situations.
It's probably more accurate to say I have a way of finding trouble. Because when the man says he was hired by my brother to save me, I'm not surprised. I am surprised when I end up on a ranch somewhere in Wyoming near the Rocky Mountains, in some kind of lucrative mafia witness protection program. When I mess that up within a week by sleeping with one of the owners, well, no one is surprised by that.I left my home in Kansas City only to ruin things in Wyoming. I'm not sure I'm cut out to be cowgirl, but I'll be damned if this breaks me.
