A Pale Horse

0 - Default Title
Description
It is spring 1535 and sixteen-year-old Sir Peter Salt sets out for his estate at Applestoke accompanied by his friend, Henry Martley and his squire, the tough old soldier, Ben Watts. Applestoke turns out to be an impoverished backwater rife with superstition. Peter determines to improve the lot of his people but before he can do so he is involved in a fight with the sinister Gerd von Richtenberg. Sixteen-year-old Queen Lucia of Voravia is on an informal royal tour when she hears of Peter's predicament and with her lady-in-waiting, Elspeth, resolves to try and rescue her friend. There are no magic swords or horses that can fly, Lucy and Peter have to survive by the use of their brains and courage. A Pale Horse is a swashbuckling adventure story and the second ion the Voravia series. It is suitable for adults and good readers aged 10.
