Saga is desperately awaiting the start of the new school term so that she can leave her holiday quarters at Queenette Dormitory and return to Jimpsee House, where the house ghost isn't out to get her... And everyone else.
But as the new term starts and training begins for the inter school tourney, all is not right with the house ghosts of Toserra Sorose Academy. Something or someone is drawing them in, making them disappear. Tremblay isn't there to make mischief or offer words of wisdom as Saga and her friends prepare to represent Toserra Sorose at the upcoming tourney.
Then, as the schools gather in The Tree City, the affliction of the ghosts spreads, affecting the angels and ancestral spirits from other schools, leading to chaos as a gate to hell is opened and hundreds are dragged into hell.
Good intentions mean nothing when you unintentionally invade the underworld and Saga and her friends find themselves traveling across the realm of the dead, from the gates of Tartarus to the throne room of Hades himself to make it back to the realms of the living.
