My Brother in the Sky

Description
A Note to Parents and Caregivers If you are reading this book, it may mean your family is walking through a heartbreak you never expected. We are so sorry. This story was written to help you gently explain the death of a baby or sibling to very young children, while you are also navigating your own grief. When we were living through this ourselves, we found that many stories didn't quite fit our circumstances. So we changed words, softened phrases, skipped pages, and reshaped the stories to match what felt right for our family and to honour the devastating loss of our boy. We encourage you to do the same with this book. Please make it yours. Read slowly. Pause when needed. Let your child lead. Follow their cues. Create gentle rituals like lighting a candle, holding a special teddy, looking at photos or stepping outside together to notice the sky. There is no "right" way to do this. Your child does not need perfect words, they need you. This book is not professional or medical advice. If you or your child need additional support, please reach out to your GP, grief counsellor or local bereavement service. You do not have to carry this alone. A keepsake for little hearts and the grown-ups holding them.
