Economy of Communion

0 - Default Title
Description
The Focolare Movement, a religious movement that emerged in Europe immediately after World War II, inspired the creation of an economic project that transcended its original objectives and became a social "action": the Economy of Communion (EdC) project. Created in Brazil by Chiara Lubich in 1991, the EoC aims to create business hubs composed of enterprises that share a common goal: to put the profits generated by their economic activities into communion with society. A few years after its creation, the project has a considerable number of centers and participating companies in Brazil and around the world, and has been transforming all aspects of economic and social relations, attracting the interest of researchers in economics, administration, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and related fields. The project does not seek to propose itself as an alternative to the current mode of production. On the contrary, the efficiency of its companies and their ability to generate good results are what measure the project's effectiveness and enable its success.
