Projections of God: Homiletical. Images of God in the Bible, in Art and Preaching]Images are fundamental to every discourse on God. The Biblical prohibition of images means at the same time a varied production of figures of speech which are part of every sermon. Sermons destroy old and create new images of God and give rise to varied projections of God in the mind of the listeners. In the theme year "Image and Bible" of the Luther decade (2014/2015) the International Braunschweiger Bugenhagen-Symposium addressed the key Biblical and theological issues which arise in this context. The conference proceedings explore the different images of God that are used in sermons - on the basis of biblical words, images and narratives and in different social, ecclesial and political contexts - and analyse their impact on the listeners.
