Il mondo è scosso da un misterioso fenomeno ottico chiamato Intrux. Oggetti, animali, persone cominciano a sfocarsi e piano piano a scomparire. Il signor Hesus, un immigrato di mezza età non molto ben integrato, sembrerebbe essere, fra tutti, l¿unico immune a questo strano fenomeno. Con l¿aiuto di Alois, un simpatico e arguto androide, si lancia nell¿impresa di tradurre visivamente il mondo che rischia di diventare irrimediabilmente illeggibile. Non solo legge gli Intrux, ma collega ciascuno di essi a una storia ripescata dalla sua memoria, trascinandoci in un moderno Decamerone. Improvvisamente il signor Hesus si sente importante, utile, ascoltato, ma questa condizione non è destinata a durare. Il Governo sta per lanciare un¿applicazione che monopolizzerà la lettura degli Intrux, rendendo i racconti personali, comici e toccanti del signor Hesus obsoleti. E lui tornerà ad essere uno straniero qualsiasi, ignorato e disprezzato. Riuscirà il signor Hesus a convincere i suoi fan a non abbandonarlo?
