On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the “other Bach”: Warner Classics with the CPE BACH COLLECTION on 13 CDs. When you said the name “Bach” at the time of Haydn or Mozart, you did not mean Johann Sebastian, but Carl Philipp Emanuel. The Thomaskantor's second son far surpassed his father in popularity and influence. Not only did he lay the foundations for the symphony of his successors such as Haydn or Beethoven, he was also one of the first major piano virtuoses and author of one of the first piano schools. In 2014, the music world celebrates the 300th anniversary of this genius between Baroque and Classical Music (8 March). Warner Classics recalls him with a 13-CD CPE Bach Collection — comprising a wealth of outstanding recordings with leading artists in the early music scene. As the inventor and pioneer of the so-called “sensitive style”, CPE Bach anticipated the expressive bursts of RO mantik - for example in his piano works, which were played with Bob van Asperen and Alan Curtis (in CD premieres!) are shining. His symphonies — fields of experimentation in which Bach tested the sonic possibilities of the slowly developing orchestra — will be present with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under Gustav Leonhardt. Bach's concertante work occupies a large space. As court compbalist of Frederick II and later Hamburg music director, he had many opportunities to write concerts on the hands of great soloists and perform on the harpsichord himself. Anner Bylsma plays the cello, sound, Koopman, the harpsichord concertos. Another highlight is the oratorio The Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus under Philippe Herreweghe.
