This study tries to investigate the effect of content familiarity, gender-oriented content familiarity and gender differences to apprehend reading texts among the preliminary year (PYP) students at the Northern Border University (NBU) using neutral and non - neutral texts. The study adopts a quantitative analysis using T-test. The data obtained from the respondents in this study who were 120 undergraduate students, 60 males, and 60 females from the Deanship of Preparatory Year and Supportive Studies at Northern Border University Saudi Arabia.
