The custom of sending relatives, friends and acquaintainces seasonal greetings in Christmas cards began in the middle of the 19th century. In those days, as nowadays, artistic and original cards were created and produced with lots of love, creativity and time. The 68 cards that have been selected for this book are examples of an extensive collection of Christmas cards, which Alexandra Adami has been working on for over 10 years. Each card is distinguished by its quite unique originality and illustrates how famous, well-known and also less well-known families in Europe and America sent their seasonal greetings. Radiant and happy children are the most popular themes that are usually depieted in an artistic fashion through photography. In the Christmas spirit, part of the carnings from this wonderful book is donated to the charity Clic Sargent-Caring for Children with Cancer.
