Sound Border Management is one of the most challenging concerns in today's reality. Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) articulates various dimensions of cooperation. Transnational security threats jeopardize overall stability and put adverse effect on the internal law and order situation. Border security analysts consider the cooperation as the best example of border management. Non-integrated approach, trade imbalance between the countries, unwillingness from the hierarchy, awareness of the bordering people, political involvement both from within and outside are the few major challenges of effective border management. The corner stone of the suggested option is to develop an effective cooperation mechanism among the various stake holders. At national level, integrated border management system with a robust mechanism for cooperation within related agencies, Bi-lateral cooperation and International cooperation for establishing a regional forum and international forum among border guarding forces should get the highest priority for peaceful border management. Besides, modernization and adoption of smart border management concept will lead to better border management also.
