Description
Dr. Hans Hass' (1919-2013) Energon-Theory has unjustly not been taken seriously in the natural sciences. Philosophically, it is very insightful and can be very useful and explanatory for determining what an organism actually is. This has been the case particularly since G. E. Stahl's (1659-1734) works and Immanuel Kant's (1724-1804) Critique of Judgment (1790), because since then it has become clear that the organism is certainly no longer a mechanism (of efficient causes, i.e. causa efficiens), but rather it is a living being in its own self-organization [i.e. with a (wholeness) causality of living beings as wholes (with their own "bildende Kraft") which we do understand only in approximation, through the application of algorithms].
