When considering ourselves as individuals as well as members of a species, the author suggests that due to the precarious state of our environmental conditions brought about through unhealthy Human Self/Planetary nature relationships and the dangers presented by Human-induced climate change, amongst other things, Humanity is, by threatening living conditions on our planetary base, Self-harming and this may be recognised as an outer sign of an inner disorder. The Human Self is not the only important element to consider in this unfolding drama but as it is Humanity, or at least specific areas of Human behaviour and attitudes, that are harming ¿all our relations', to draw on a phrase from our indigenous ancestry, it is only by addressing these attitudes and behaviours, in short our relationships, will it be possible to begin healing ourselves and subsequently our world that is this planet we call Earth
