Description
Lecture Notes from the year 2025 in the subject Didactics - Common Didactics, Educational Objectives, Methods, grade: A, Savitribai Phule Pune University, formerly University of Pune, course: Credit Course, language: English, abstract: This chapter explores the fundamental nature of human existence as the harmonious co-existence of two distinct yet intimately connected dimensions: the Self (consciousness) and the Body (physical form). Understanding this dual nature is crucial for developing a complete picture of human potential, addressing human needs appropriately, and creating conditions for optimal health and fulfillment. The human being represents a unique synthesis in nature - a conscious entity embodied in physical form, capable of self-awareness, choice, and purposeful action. This understanding challenges purely materialistic views that reduce humans to biological machines, as well as purely spiritual views that dismiss the importance of physical existence. Instead, it presents an integrated model that honors both dimensions while recognizing their distinct characteristics and requirements.Through this exploration, we will examine how the Self utilizes the Body as its instrument for interaction with the physical world, how harmony can be achieved between these two dimensions, and practical approaches for maintaining the health and proper functioning of both aspects of human existence.
