Ab Mitte der siebziger Jahre spielten sich JUDAS PRIEST mit halsbrecherischem Tempo, machtvoll akzentuierten Stakkato-Akkorden, lichtschnellen zweistimmigen Solis sowie Rob Halfords reizvoll-aggressiver Stimme an die Spitze des "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal". Schon seit den Gründerjahren haftete dem Quintett aus dem englischen Birmingham Kultstatus an. Doch erst der Wechsel zu CBS 1977 brachte den internationalen Durchbruch.
