{"product_id":"hylton-jack-digga-digga-doo-0765387616021","title":"Digga Digga Doo","description":"Jack Hylton was one of the foremost bandleaders during the dance band era. Born in 1892, he moved to London in 1913, where at first he accompanied silent films, before being taken on as relief pianist at the new and exclusive 400 Club in Bond Street. During WWI Jack became musical director to the army entertainment division, where he was ideally suited to the role of organising concert parties. After the war, he struck lucky again, being taken on as relief pianist in the dance orchestra at the Roof Garden of Queen's Hotel, Langham Place. Hearing the Paul Whiteman Orchestra's recordings made him realise how important it was for dance music to be properly arranged, and the fruits of all Jack's knowledge and experience can be heard clearly in the music in this compilation. The recordings span the years 1928-1931 and feature a host of vocalists that, besides Jack himself, include Sam Browne, Pat O'Malley and Jack Jackson. Titles include Sitting at a Table Laid for Two, In the Heart of the Sunset, Painting the Clouds with Sunshine, That's My Weakness Now and What is this Thing Called Love? among many others.","brand":"Harmonia Mundi GmbH \/ Berlin","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53584660627798,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0925\/5829\/5382\/files\/product_image_0765387616021_1.jpg?v=1778465752","url":"https:\/\/www.momoxbooks.com\/products\/hylton-jack-digga-digga-doo-0765387616021","provider":"momoxbooks","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
