Pallbearer'S Shoes

0 - Default Title
Description
Former V-Roys, The Faults and Superdrag alum, Mic Harrison, will release his second solo record, Pallbearer s Shoes, on Proper Music on June 7th, 2004. The much anticipated release features twelve new songs and was co-produced by Superdrag s Don Coffey. The album also features guest appearances John Da (Superdrag), Scott Miller and Paxton Sellers (V-Roys), Todd Steed and Doug Gillard from Guided by Voices. From 1995 to 1999 Mic Harrison was the co-frontman for the alt-country band, the V-Roys. The first band signed to Steve Earle s E-Squared Records, the V-Roys released two and a half albums, 1996 s Just Add Ice, 1998 s All Around Town, and the 1997 EP Johnny Too Bad. In 2000 they released their live swan song, Are You Through Yet? The unique sound of the V-Roys was described by most as a mix of alt country and roots rock, with elements from folk, pop, rock, and country. After the breakup of the band, Harrison and former V-Roys band mate Jeff Bills started Lynn Point Records, on which Harrison released his first solo album. Don t Bail was a more acoustic venture for Harrison, highlighting his song writing and composing skills. Not long after the release of Don t Bail, Harrison formed The Faults with fellow Knoxville musicians. The band released only one record, a self-titled album on Lynn Point Records, which received critical acclaim. Harrison joined rockers, Superdrag in 2001. With Harrison s addition, the band was hailed as the best band in Knoxville. Superdrag s 2002 album, Last Call for Vitriol, the only one on which Harrison performs, was rewed as Superdrag s most eclectic and musically complex effort to date. Harrison stayed with the band through the end of 2003 and is now preparing for his second solo effort. Although Harrison dabbled in a solo career with the release of Don t Bail before joining the V-Roys, his new album, Pallbearer s Shoes, makes for the debut of a mature writer and a seasoned musician.
