"Working on the orchestral score for We’re Going On A Bear Hunt was an absolute joy for me from start to finish. Whilst being a little too old to have read the book as a boy, I had a niece and nephew who loved it and could recite it back to me word-for-word, so I knew I was dealing with something very precious!

The wonderful thing about scoring for animation, and in particular the exquisite hand-drawn work that Lupus Films has produced here, is that the world is a more colourful and imaginative version of reality where adventures really do come to life – and this can be reflected in the music.

We're Going On A Bear Hunt allowed me, as a composer, to develop some rich thematic material for the children’s escapades, but also to explore a broad range of emotions, including the strong element of sadness and loss that the directors weren’t afraid to include.

The icing on the cake was to record with the fabulous City of London Sinfonia and London Youth Choir at Abbey Road Studios to bring this all to life, and I look forward to We're Going On A Bear Hunt becoming a firm favourite for all the family."
