His writings include several short stories, a novel and two biographies: Kristjn about Icelands most renowned tenor, and Does an Icelander Reside Here about the only Icelander who survived the Nazi concentration camps. The latter work was also published in Germany under the title Wohnt hier ein Islnder and adapted for the stage in Reykjavik and Berlin. Sverrisson has been active in public life. He served as the manager of a parliamentary group, was a board member of the Icelandic Human Rights Centre and the president of the National Coalition of People with Disabilities in Iceland. He holds a BA in political science and economics from the University of Iceland as well as an MFA in creative writing and literature from the University of Arizona.
