The issue of \"That's All Right\" together with \"Blue Moon Of Kentucky\" led to work for the group locally and throughgout the South, with a mixture of success and setbacks. An association with \"Colonel\" Tom Parker led to Parker becoming Presley's manager. A high profile record label was needed and Sam Philips was pressed into selling Elvis's Sun contract, together with all of theSun material recorded, to RCA. The greater facilitiies of RCA formed the springboard for this then almost immediate fame which grew to unprecedented levels, still showing no signs of abating to this day. The King of Rock `N' Roll had a repertoire that included much of his favourite music and influences: whilst the Rock `N' Roll classics probably have the greatest appeal, echoes of performers such as The Ink Spots and Dean Martin together with gospel gave his work a more general popularity. As with all great artists, his talents extended to further than just his music: the demands of film and television presented no problem and his stage performances were stunning.
