Land Structure and its Environmental Implications

Land Structure and its Environmental Implications

0 - Default Title
Description
This research is based on the assumption that agricultural production is degrading in terms of deforestation, the emergence of erosion features, and the use of pesticides. Therefore, for this investigation, field research was conducted in municipalities surrounding the floodplain of the lower course of the Ivaí River, Tapira, Douradina, Ivaté, Icaraíma, Querência do Norte, and Santa Mônica, which have a history of recent occupation and many conflicts related to land ownership. These are municipalities with low population density and an economy mainly focused on agriculture and livestock, where rice, cassava, sugarcane, soybeans, and cattle, mainly dairy, are produced, but there is also beef cattle production. Questionnaires were administered to 120 rural properties analyzed throughout the study area in mid-2011 and 2012.
