This work reveals some of the challenges in a rural academic and healthcare setting in Nigeria which impacts the outcome of care. There was a significant increase in the knowledge of the participants following the implementation of this one-day simulation-based training. The author concluded that maternal mortality can be eliminated by enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare Providers through simulation-based training.
