The aim of this study was to correlate quality of life, as measured by the SF-36 instrument, with food consumption and nutritional status in patients with CKD undergoing HD, using quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional research. Anthropometric assessment, collection of biochemical test results, application of the SF-36 questionnaire, and dietary history were performed. The most common disease related to CKD was high blood pressure, and the average Body Mass Index was 25.04±4.50kg\/m². Based on skinfold measurements, 73 patients were malnourished. The final nutritional diagnosis was that 80% of the sample was malnourished. Based on the average biochemical test results, only phosphorus and creatinine were adequate. In the SF-36 average scores, the lowest value was for physical limitations and the highest was for social aspects. Average energy and protein consumption was below the recommended levels. A positive correlation was found between caloric, protein, fibre, calcium, and carbohydrate intake and quality of life.","brand":"Our Knowledge Publishing","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53823838617942,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0925\/5829\/5382\/files\/product_image_9786209666957_1.jpg?v=1781825169","url":"https:\/\/www.momoxbooks.com\/products\/carmo-machado-manuela-quality-of-life-and-nutritional-status-in-chronic-renal-patients-9786209666957","provider":"momoxbooks","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
