In this hospital based study, out of 1360 general surgical patients reporting for pre anesthetic evaluation on OPD\/IPD basis, 850(62.5%) were females and 510(37.5%) were males. Mean age of the patient population was 45 (+\/-10) years. Mean weight was 65.4(+\/-9.3) Kg, with maximum and minimum weights of 99 kg and 39 kg respectively. Most of the patient population was from Srinagar (34%) and Baramula (21%). 28% were ASA 2 \u0026amp; 3(with comorbidities) and 72% ASA 1, with no statistically significant difference among two genders.
