Here Unni encountered the traditions of the ture of the Dong people (one of China's many minority ethnic groups), in which their history and their legends have been passed from generation to generation through song. Four of the musicians Unni Lovlid met in Tang'an were subsequently invited to Norway, to the international folk music festival in Forde in 2004. Together with Unni Lovlid, Frode Haltli and Terje Isungset they developed a common musical idiom together, a combination of east and west, old and new - an encounter across the boundaries of language and ture. The seven met again in Guizhou in 2005, in conjunction with an international conference on eco-museums, and gave concerts in Tang'an and elsewhere. The group gave a highly successful series of four concerts in Beijing and were invited back in June to take part in a TV programme with 30 million wers in China. Later they were given the honour of opening the Oslo World Music Festival 2005. Now they have released their first album together: Bridges. Musicians: Wu Chuan Ping (vocal), Lu Yingmei (vocal), Pan Xin Zhi (vocal), Wu Anhua (Dong pipa, bone fiddle, Dong flute, lusheng - mouth organ), Unni Lovlid (vocal), Frode Haltli (accordion), Terje Isungset (percussion)","brand":"Grappa (Galileo Music Communication)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53680309010774,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0925\/5829\/5382\/files\/product_image_7033662072019_1_b49b9df8-ab83-495e-9fee-0b5661285f53.jpg?v=1778849879","url":"https:\/\/www.momoxbooks.com\/products\/bridges-live-in-china-7033662072019","provider":"momoxbooks","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
