Today, more than 200,000 men, women and children face torture, starvation and murder in North Korea's concentration camps. Few survive the atrocities, yet the camps population is kept stable by a steady influx of new persons considered to be 'class enemies'. A small group of people have managed to flee the camps and start a new life in the prosperous South Korea. The film follows some of these refugees who despite fear of persecution and death threats produce an extraordinary musical about their experiences in the Yodok concentration camp. DVD2 - Yoduk Story - a stage play by North Korean defector Jung Sung San (Jeong Seongsan 정성산). The story is based on stories of political prisoners at the Yodok concentration camp. The writer and director, Jung Sung-San was never imprisoned at Yoduk, therefore he has relied on accounts of others who were there, including Kang Chol-Hwan. Jung was able to escape North Korea and find his way to South Korea, where in 2002, he learned that his father had been publicly stoned to death in the North. In his sorrow and anger, he sought out a way to express all his feelings and promptly began writing this musical.","brand":"Piraya Film AS","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53910035530070,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0925\/5829\/5382\/files\/product_image_7090021300046_1.jpg?v=1781880507","url":"https:\/\/www.momoxbooks.com\/products\/andrzej-fidyk-yodok-stories-pal-7090021300046","provider":"momoxbooks","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
