Innovative Approaches to Chemistry Instruction

0 - Default Title
Description
As part of my academic work, I conducted a study titled "Using an Electronic Board Game to Improve Students' Performance in Writing Chemical Symbols and Atomic Numbers of the First Thirty Elements." The research focused on first-year science students at St John's Grammar Senior High School, Accra. A practical action research design was employed, incorporating observations, interviews, tests, and questionnaires. A pre-test first revealed students' challenges, which informed the development of an electronic board game intervention. After implementing the game, a post-test showed a significant improvement in students' ability to correctly write chemical symbols and atomic numbers. The findings demonstrated that educational games can positively enhance learning in chemistry. Therefore, I recommend that teachers integrate appropriate games into their instructional strategies to improve students' engagement and performance.
